The World Media Economics and Management Conference brings together scholars worldwide to reflect on contemporary issues in the economics and management of media industries and firms. Established in 1994, the conference is held every two years. Previous meetings have been Zurich (Swizerland), London (United Kingdom), Pamplona (Spain), Turku (Finland), Montreal (Canada), Beijing (China) and Lisboa (Portugal).

In June 2010, the IX World Media Economics and Management Conference will take place in Bogotá-Colombia. It will be the very first time that such event take place in Latin America. At the same time the First Latin America Media Economics and Management Conference will take place in Bogotá, in June 2010. It will be launched by the LAMMA (Latin American Media Management Association)
